Unique CMR-free fragrances for your candles
We often hear about CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic and Reprotoxic Substances), but should we really be worried about them? Our fragrances, made from natural substances, can contain these compounds, which play an essential role in the rendering and complexity of perfumes. Eliminating them completely would mean considerably limiting the olfactory palette and the quality of the fragrances available.
CMR levels in fragrance composition
Our fragrances can contain, in their raw state, CMR levels ranging from 0.1% to 3.3%. However, once diluted in a candle, where the fragrance represents approximately 10% of the final product, the concentration is drastically reduced. For example, a fragrance containing 1.62% of reprotoxic substance will only represent 0.16% in the finished candle , well below the regulatory thresholds and safe under normal conditions of use.
Understanding the issues surrounding phthalates
As for phthalates, often used for their fixing properties in cosmetics, some can be of concern in the toy industry for example. In our fragrances, it is a different type of phthalate, ethyl phthalate not considered dangerous according to current regulations. We have therefore excluded from this collection any fragrance containing ethyl phthalate. This compound is commonly used in cosmetics, such as lip gloss or eyeliners.
