Our fragrance guides

How can I scent my homemade creations?

Depending on the type of creation you want to make, you can use several types of products.

  • All our "candle perfumes" and "solid soap perfumes" are used for creating your candles, melts, solid soaps, room diffusers, and cosmetics.
  • The "car diffuser fragrances" spread their notes in car diffusers.
  • The "liquid soap fragrances" will accompany your scented liquid soaps.
  • The "mist fragrances" disperse their essences for your fabric mists.

Characteristics of scents for your fragrant creations

All fragrances feature specific olfactory notes organized into 3 categories: top notes, heart notes, and base notes.

However, unlike a traditional perfume, which gradually reveals itself on your skin, deploying a sequential dance of notes, a scented candle invites you to a different symphony.

From the moment you light its wick, it generously delivers the richness of its aromatic palette. The top, heart, and base notes launch into a harmonious dance, blending and diffusing simultaneously.

Some scents may contain CMRs, ethyl phthalate, or vanillin to enhance the olfactory output. Without these components, certain fragrances would simply not exist. A fragrance may contain all three, some, or none of these components. For more information, consult our FAQ on fragrances.

Important
Each fragrance complies with European IFRA / CLP CE N°1907/2006 standards and the European cosmetic regulation 1223/2009/EC.

We strongly recommend all our customers, particularly pregnant women or those with pre-existing medical conditions, to adopt suitable personal protective measures, such as using gloves, protective glasses, and aprons, when handling our products.

How should I store my candle fragrance?

It is recommended to store a fragrance in a cool, dark place, at a room temperature of 20°C to extend its shelf life up to a maximum of 24 months. If the fragrance crystallizes, simply heat it to a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

Which fragrance should I choose?

At Terre de Bougies, we offer 17 different families each with its own identity. Depending on the seasonality, effects, or desired notes, you choose a fragrance with different characteristics.

Choosing your fragrance based on seasonality

In Autumn, nature prepares for the coming winter. Trees shed their leaves, the sun becomes more discreet, and high temperatures disappear. In this case, woody and fresh fragrances perfectly capture the cozy autumn ambiance. Scents like Forest Stroll or Orange Sandal are typical.

During winter, we are more homebound and nature becomes more hostile. It's the season for hot chocolate and cozy evenings under a blanket. What better than cocooning fragrances to enhance the dimmed atmosphere of your room. Fragrances like Fireside or Cinnamon Orange will reinforce this winter ambiance. Of course, all the Christmas fragrances will enhance your holiday celebrations with unique scents.

When spring arrives, fauna and flora emerge from their dens to revive your senses in the great outdoors. Thus, floral or natural fragrances will reflect the renewal of Mother Nature. You'll again experience the quintessence of your environment accompanied by scents like Spring Breeze or Sakura Flower.

With the arrival of summer, our summer fragrances will brighten your warm days even more. But, you might be looking for some coolness. For this, our beverage-type scents will refresh your olfactory sense. You can find fragrances like Mojito or Piña Colada.
