Some of our fragrances contain chemical components such as CMR, ethyl phthalate, or vanillin, which are essential to certain scents. These components, in minimal quantities, present little to no risk to human health. Our CMR-free fragrances offer an equally high-quality olfactory result but may limit scent possibilities. There are two ways to use a fragrance to scent a candle. Once incorporated, it will diffuse its scent throughout the room.
The first method, the simplest, is to add a few drops of fragrance to the burning candle’s wax. It is important that the candle has a neutral scent. This method is simple, but the scent will not last long. You will need to regularly refresh the scent using a pipette or dropper. One drop is enough.
The second method, more demanding, involves making your own scented candles. The fragrance must be incorporated directly into the melted wax in a double boiler or other melting device. The higher the percentage, the stronger the scent. The recommended fragrance dosage for a candle is 7% to 10%.
