Choosing Cargill Plant-Based Soy for Homemade Poured Candles

This vegetable soy wax for scented candles in container (C3) is pure in order to have an optimal surface result. The soy wax from our shop is an excellent solution for making your own poured or scented candles, because it has many advantages. We advise you to cut this wax with 10% stearin and pour it with the fragrance at 75 ° C.

It is possible to use this wax for making fondants by providing 5% beeswax.

Melting point and temperature of soy wax

We recommend that you cut this soy wax with 10% stearin and pour it with the fragrance at a temperature of 75°C … When making your candle, only one pour is necessary. This is a guaranteed time saver! Its melting point of 51°C also makes it easier and faster to work with, as it is quickly reached.

If you want to perfume your candle, this wax is particularly suitable. It allows, in fact, an excellent restitution of the perfumes and does not alter them, being itself odorless. Its specific properties guarantee a beautiful, bright and sparkling flame throughout the burning time of your candle.

Why use 100% soy C3 for your homemade container candles?

As its name suggests, this C3 soy wax is ideal for making container and scented candles! It is therefore perfectly suitable for use with any type of container, whether glass, ceramic or metal (aluminum for example).

The properties of soy wax guarantee it a flawless hold with very good adhesion. You can also use it to make massage candles by adding 20% ​​coconut oil. However, this wax is not suitable alone for making scented wax melts; other vegetable waxes are more suitable for this use. You can still use it with 5% beeswax for your wax melts.

Steps & recommendations for use

Our C3 soy wax for container candles is vegetable-based, biodegradable and cruelty-free.

While burning, your soy wax candle will not give off any odor unless you add candle fragrance to it.

Candle Fragrances

This vegetable soy wax can be used with any type of fragrance oil, but we recommend that you choose a quality oil intended for this purpose. An entry-level fragrance or one that is not designed for this use could alter the combustion of the candle and not provide an optimal olfactory rendering.

If you use our candle fragrances, do not exceed 7% to 10% fragrance depending on the chosen reference, this is not necessary and could also disrupt combustion.

For optimal diffusion quality, the fragrance will be integrated into the wax between 75 and 80° during the cooling phase.

Filling the candle

Melt the wax gently in a bain-marie and do not exceed 90°C. The melting point is around 51°C. Fill your containers with the scented oil at a minimum of 75°C to ensure a perfect candle.

Candle wicks

With soy wax , we recommend TCR type candle wicks, to be chosen according to the diameter of your container.

The coloring of creation

You will find on our shop a whole range of dyes to give beautiful sparkling colors to your candle. These are available in powder, liquid or shavings. It must be added in the heating phase of your candle, at at least 70 ° C, and mix well to ensure that the color is distributed evenly. If you also add a scented oil, it will be included at the end of this step.

Cooling the candle

Once the pouring is done, you must let the candle cool to room temperature, and let it rest for 48 hours before you want to use it. This will ensure that the candle holds perfectly!
